Lazing on A Sunny Afternoon

Hello from what seems to be the sunniest of weeks ever! Today is just a little snapshot into the garden and Cece lapping up some sunshine.
Flowers have begun blooming in the garden, although I have the on-going losing battle of growing daffodils and sunflowers, and wanting a meadow in my back garden. I need an SOS course on gardening or just to hire a gardener to really get the garden I desire! Any tips are most welcome!
I'm hoping this year, the garden will be a place full of wonderful memories, pretty flowers and plenty of apples, grapes and home grown veg. Even though I'm petrified of frogs, I've also even considered opening back up the pond ... although last time it was uncovered Cece fell in!
Cece loves exploring the garden!
What have you been up to whilst the sun has been shining?

Everything is Rosie

Yesterday I ventured out to my favourite charity shop hotspot in the search of some education supplies to help my training. I found some absolute gems, including some additions to my spring wardrobe, however the one thing I was most pleased with was this Rosie Gift Set from Lush. The set costs £21.25 on the Lush website, however I've noticed this must be a newer version of the set with new packaging and the addition of the Tisty Tosty bath bomb... the £3.49 price tag I paid above though is a steal compared to what I would've paid in store!
Rose is one of my favourite scents, and when I finally opened this package up (because I obviously didn't just buy the box because it was Lush and had a retro pattern...) I was so pleased at the contents! Amandopondo is one of my all time favourite Lush products... I fell in love with Bubble Bars because of this bar, and haven't looked back since! Rose Jam Bubbleroon is a product I've been waiting to try for a while, and am looking forward to the rose & lemon scents in my bathtub.
I've never tried a bath ballistic before as I'm not a fan of bath bombs, however the petals are enticing me towards the Rose Queen. The Argan Body Conditioner I have never tried before either; the scent of almond and brazil alongside rose smells delicious though!

The Courtyard of Daffodils ; A Walk through Begijnhof

It's amazing how much you can pack into a day trip with a little bit of planning... during my five hour visit to Brugge a couple of weeks back, I visited a few little gems around Brugge. This is part one, and one of the places that was top of my to do list. Begijnhof is a pretty little courtyard, down a side road from Minnewater. When we arrived, we was dropped off right by Minnewater park, and found Begijnhof within a matter of minutes (which pleased me immensely!)

The courtyard is full of quaint houses, and the paths across the flowers. April is daffodil season, which made me ridiculously happy... I quite honestly could've spent the whole day sitting peacefully in the courtyard. There are signs for quiet in the courtyard, which sets a lovely, tranquil atmosphere, and is a complete opposite to the hustle and bustle of the Brugge town square!

Chanel Rose Confidentiel Nail Polish

As part of my Spring make up bag, I decided I needed some neutral colours, mainly for work/interviews… as part of my trip to the Chanel counter, alongside buying a certain rose themed blusher I picked up Rose Confidentiel… the colour is a beautiful rose, blush pink and stands out from a neutral manicure, but the colour is not in your face (unlike my Dragon & Rouge Noir shades!)

Spring To Do

I can't believe it is Spring already… where have the last 3 months gone? In roughly 12 weeks, it'll be summer, which is quite scary as it means I will have finished teacher training, knocking something off my bucket list.

Today I thought I'd share another to do list with you, including lots of odds and sods I'm planning on achieving this Spring:

❀ Have a proper Spring clean of my house from top to bottom.
❀ Walk down to the river.
❀ Watch the new season of Game of Thrones (excited is an understatement!)
❀ Start decoupaging… I'm planning some Orla Kiely up cycles of furniture!
❀ Listen to my record collection, and start adding to it.
❀ Visit a few boot fairs.
❀ Use my Merlin pass for more days out.
❀ Start my DIYs and paper crafts.
❀ Dye my hair a new colour, and get it cut.
❀ Finish up my university assignments.
❀ Add more colour, and prints around the house.
❀ Wear all of my Crown & Glory collection… as there are actually pieces that haven't been worn before!
❀ Have a closet clear-out.
❀ Berry picking and hopefully seeking out some elderflowers to homebrew an elderflower champagne.
❀ Finalise plans for the summer.

What is on your to do list this Spring?

The Letter Writing Club

A project I've had in mind for a long time now, so much so it has been on my 24 before 24 list for some time now, is setting up a letter swap club. April is #NationalLetterWritingMonth, and I decided now is the time to stop being 'too busy' and actually take a little bit of time out of my day to set this thing up, and get to writing some letters! I've taken part in craft/letter/snail mail swaps before, and loved taking part, but was looking for something more long term in the post swapping world! Also, I need more excuses to buy fancy stationery and pens!

The Concept
On the first day of each month, I will send out an e-mail, with the monthly theme including a variety of prompts to help you write, and a selection of 1 to 3 people to write to (depending on your choice on the form below!). Each member will write a letter to each person in their group. Each individual sends a minimum of one letter within that month.

Contents of the letter could include illustrations, postcards etc... creativity is key, but can come across just as brilliantly in a simple well-worded letter!

There will be a private Facebook group created, where all Letter Writing Club members can share thoughts, ideas and post pics of their mail! Once you have mailed me the sign up, you'll receive an e-mail back from me, with the link!

Send an e-mail to with the subject line 'The Letter Writing Club'

In the message include:

Social Media/Blog Address:
Number of People to Post to Monthly:
Willing to Post International:
Permission to use photographs/social media links* :

*When the letters start arriving through our letterboxes, I would love if everyone could share some photos etc... if you are happy for myself to use these photographs in blog posts and on the Letter Writing Club page, can you let me know! This will only ever be your social media/blog address and photographs of Letter Writing Club letters... your personal home addresses will never go out to anyone other than the group members for each month, and will be held by myself.

Initially it would be good if everyone posted letters to one or two letters to other members of their group each month. I will be creating

Any questions feel free to ask!

Sign ups will be cut off by the 24th of each month - this is to give me time to organise the groups in time for the new month!
If during any month, you feel you do not want to take part, then just let me know!

For the first letter swap, commencing the 1st May, I was thinking of an introductory letter to all members. Any ideas on prompts or an additional theme (maybe Spring?) let me know in the comments!

Hopefully this will be the start of something quite brilliant!

Happy Easter!

Hello folks! A very quick post, just to say Happy Easter!
I'm off to Chessington today… mega hoorah! We decided to not be traditional and have christmas dinner again at Easter (we had it yesterday!) but instead take advantage of everyone being off, and honestly, that fantastic ride called Bubbleworks is calling! (I'm not even joking!)

What are your plans for today? :)

Joules Spring/Summer #LustList

Bright White Garden Shirt £49.95, Harbour Jewel Jersey Top (in the sale!) £24.95, Womens Gilet, Dark Everglade Green £34.95, Southwold Sunglasses £59.95, Joules MollyWelly French Navy Chelsea £36.95, Corn Yellow Coated Mac £119.00 , French Navy Garden Poncho £24.95, Mallory Tweed Skirt (in the sale!) at £39.95, Hedgehog Keyring £6.95

Joules Spring/Summer collection this year, is one of my favourite collections to date. I never ever in my life thought I would love outerwear as much as I do since discovering Joules... and years ago working in a department store, would joke about how I would never wear a gilet (and to think a poncho!)... not anymore!

I am head over heels in love with the corn yellow mac, but doubt I could justify £119 for a mac! The French Navy Poncho, I'm hoping to find on a trip to Sevenoaks at the weekend, as I need a poncho for Merlin Pass shenanigans (hello Chessington Bubbleworks!). The shirt, top and skirt are all lustlist items for my work wardrobe, which I'm trying to compile ready for next year.

The floral wellie print keeps drawing me in, and I actually quite like the new printed wellies with a man woman's best friend on! The hedgehog keyring is a must find for me, as it reminds me of my little hedgehog Kate and would perk up my keys (which currently only have an X Factor key ring on!)

Easter Baking

This week, I have utilised some time off with some making & baking! For my birthday, I was gifted a lot of baking materials, including the lemon & orange jellies, floral cupcake cases, icing sets and a cake cookbook, and I brought these flowerpot muffin cases from Lakeland for £6.99 and although I did not have any floral/green icing to decorate as well as Lakeland have, I decided to add an Easter twist to my first time baking with them!
No Easter is complete without chocolate crispy cakes… cornflakes or rice crispies though?! Personally, my favourite is cornflakes made with milk & white chocolate mixed… a marble crispy cake!
I attempted (and pretty much failed) a buttercream icing recipe with my new icing tools and cupcake cookbook… it was supposed to be a pink and white stripe mix, but it sort of blended! Any tips for better icing, send them my way! The cake mixture turned out okay… I used rose water and vanilla in the mix.
I opened my Snoopy Cupcake Kit, and made a few cupcakes using the cases and accessories, one of which was the cupcake sticks. The cases I baked went translucent, so next time, I'll be baking in plain cases and transferring! (lesson learnt!)

The biscuits I created seemed to be one of the better things I baked… using a recipe out of an old 90s cookbook, which I used when I was younger, I attempted the 'plain' biscuit recipe, and it tasted like a cross between a shortbread biscuit and digestive… I added some yellow coloured icing… the plain biscuits are the best though… I've been converted from covered biscuits to plain janes!

And that's the end of my easter baking. Over the summer, I am really hoping to bake properly, and share some recipes here on the blog. I want to master my Nan's chocolate and peppermint cake and also bake enough so I don't feel guilty buying a kitchenaid!

What are your Easter bakes?

p.s. below is an outtake… Cece loves to try and get heavily involved in the baking/testing process.

Bee Happy #LustList

Honeycomb Vase from #Asda

This year one of my goals is to up-lift, lighten and brighten my home. I've found simple accessories can really change a room. I am absolutely loving the colour yellow at the moment, and Asda currently have as part of their George Home range, a wide range of Bee themed accessories.
I keep walking past this honeycomb vase when grocery shopping, and even though I already have a yellow vase, I'm slowly convincing myself I need another...

Yellow Honeycomb Frame from Asda #asda #wishlist

And to match it wouldn't be normal to not buy the matching frame!

I'm a huge mug addict, and this bee happy mug is so pretty and an absolute steal at only £2!

Honeycomb Clock £12
I'm in a mini love hate relationship with this clock; I love the design, and think it would be so perfect for a brighter home, but a clock needs numbers right?!
George at Asda Honeypot #beehappy #asda
This yellow honeypot is adorable, and reminds me crazily of Winnie the Pooh. I don't even eat honey that much but now I feel I need a reason to eat honey more!
