Fifteen from 2015

After reading Liv & then discovering Emma's anti bucket lists posts, it inspired me to reflect on the past year, so I've picked fifteen achievements from 2015 to share with you today...

2015 in a list:

1. In January, whilst on a new placement during my training, I gained so much confidence from my mentor, which changed my attitude to work, and having people take the micky out of me!
2. I went to Brugge.
3. I actually completed my teaching course, even though by February I had my resignation letter ready to hand in.
4. I attended the London Blogcademy.
5. & went to the Crown and Glory London Glitterati party and overcome my fear or socialising with people I didn't know irl.
6. Got myself down to the coast many times; Whitstable, Hastings & Brighton to name a few, and overcame a fear of sea swimming.
7. Went everywhere with my Merlin Pass, and went on the best rollercoaster at Alton Towers... 13
8. Tried lots of new foods - hummus was my holy grail, guacamole & cheese.
9. Dyed my hair far too many times, but did achieve rose gold (for a day!)
10.  Completed the Shine Marathon (without any prior training!)
11. Graduated from university and attended the ceremony!
12. Secured my 1st Job
13. and got recognition in that job, which made my confidence grow further.
14. Brought my first designer bag!
15. Visited London on countless occasions... Kew Gardens, Game of Thrones exhibition, the Disney Xmas tree.

I have a huge bucket list ready for next year, but as I close this year, I can see how far I've come from the anxious wreck I was last January!

Have a lovely 2016!

Christmas Eve in London 2015

I opted for a very busy early morning wander up to London, mainly in pursuit of the Disney tree. I was quite pleased at how quiet and calming it was to have time to myself over the festive period.

Christmas Tree Envy

This year I've found myself Christmas tree shopping three times, and snapping festive trees left, right and centre. Today I thought I'd share a few of my favourites.
The London themed decor tree at John Lewis Oxford Street. If I had space for two Christmas trees in my house, I'd make one London themed. Each year I see lots of lovely London/Britain themed decorations (especially in Harrods, Liberty & Selfridges) but find they probably won't fit in with my Christmas tree!
The Trafalgar Square tree; y'know the tallest tree ever!
White & Blush themed tree; At Polhil I spotted this tree, and fell in love. When I was younger my family used to have a traditional green tree, and a white tree for our dining room. This tree, is so elegant- I love the light up flowers and pink berries.
Another tree I loved at Polhil was this newborn/baby themed tree - the blush & baby blue surprisingly works!
A tree close to home I'm envious of is my parents, this was the tree bare - they brought a Blue Spruce this year, and I've badly wanted to buy one, especially as they have the blue winter hint of colour to them, but unfortunately they aren't dog friendly (hello needles everywhere!) so had to stick to a Norwegian again this year! Seeing this photo made me realise, I quite like the thought of having a bare tree in a room... may be an idea for next year!

The last tree I am especially envious of and that is top of my to see list before the 4th January is the Disney Tree at St Pancras station in London - a tree made up of Disney toys, yes please!

Sunday Lunch; Royal Oak

Earlier today, I had the most gorgeous Sunday lunch at the Royal Oak in Shoreham, Kent. This had been my second visit to the pub, and both times have not disappointed...
Camembert and garlic mushrooms to start, pork belly with roast potatoes and vegetables as the main course & for dessert, peanut butter, chocolate and toffee cheesecake. If I could eat here every Sunday I would!

A Festive Day up London 2015

Every year myself, my mum & sister head up to London for a Christmas shop on Oxford Street, and a day out. This year, we planned a very tight schedule for our day! We started in the morning by visiting Shrek's Adventure on the Southbank, giving our Merlin passes another use for the year - unfortunately you can't take photos during the tour! Then we headed to Oxford Street for some shopping in Liberty (where we saw many festive runners in underpants run past the windows whilst I was having my make up done on the NARS counter!), John Lewis & Disney Store. After we'd finished shopping, we headed to Planet Hollywood in Haymarket.
I was especially pleased to be sat at the table with Love Actually and Oliver props on the wall next to us!
I had 'The Hangover' cocktail, which was so lovely. I absolutely love any cocktail with sweet and sours, and orange juice in! Food wise, I had opted for a BBQ pulled pork pizza, which was mammoth (peek over on my Instagram for a look!)
Another favourite film - The Full Monty!
After dinner, we walked from Haymarket, over the bridge to the London Eye. We'd never been on at night before, and figured Christmas would be the perfect time to see London lit up at night!
(playing about with the art effects from my new Olympus PEN !
I'm planning another day up London to see a certain Disney tree, and go to Winter Wonderland. Where else are your must see places in London this Christmas?

Luxury Lush Pud - Lush Advent #16

I had been eyeing up the Luxury Lush Pud ever since I started stalking Lush blogs, Instagrams and websites looking at the Christmas collection. Pop colours & holly called out to my Lush heart! I was very pleased with the combination of colours with this bath bomb - upon dropping in the water, it fizzed out of control, and changed colours every couple of seconds, and made the water turn a lovely combo of colours. I did notice this bath time was extra relaxing, and after searching up on the product more it promises to 'banish tension and aid relaxation' ... top marks!
