The View from the Shard

At the top of my birthday list this year was to go up The Shard at nighttime ... after going on The London Eye at night, and completely changing my opinion of daytime vs nighttime London views, I knew The Shard's view with London lit up was a must see.

Next year I want to stay in the hotel within the Shard!

Planet Hollywood Take 2

As part of my birthday trip to London, I decided to re-visit a favourite from last December, Planet Hollywood. Last time, we sat by the Love Actually & Oliver windows, and this time, I got another favourite... Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
I always find it so hard to pick a cocktail from the menu. I'm still yet to try the non alcoholic 'A Bugs Life' as this time round I opted for the Bramble cocktail.
& for the main, I had the surf and turf burger... I figured as I was having a day of ticking things off of bucket list, why not tick off number 81! The best bit about the burger was it was cooked like a steak, so I had it rare, and it was delicious!

366 #1 - Photo a Day Project

February 25th - Birthday Flowers
Number 42 on my Bucket List was to complete a photo a day project... with a leap year just around the corner, I thought it was time to attempt ticking this one off of my list. I'm not sure whether I'll see the end of this, or how interesting it will be, but I thought it'd be interesting to document every day, especially as I have invested so much in my photography now!

24; Mixtape

A feature I've missed writing for a while is mixtape. As today is my birthday, and 24 is my lucky number, I felt now was the right time to a. bring it back as a feature and b. share the 24 songs I cannot stop listening to at the moment. Between my half alive old iPod nano, youtube playlists and my new subscription to iTunes music, I'm discovering lots of old favourites as well as being able to listen to the current top 40 (unlike the old old days where I genuinely recorded the top 40 every Sunday onto actual mixtapes!)

1. Love On Top - Beyonce
2. Signed, Sealed, Delivered - Stevie Wonder
3. Jackie Wilson Said - Dexy's Midnight Runners / Van Morrison
4. Dangerous Love - Fuse ODG
5. History - One Direction
6. Never Forget You - The Noisettes
7. Dream a Little Dream- The Mamas & The Papas
8. Stay with Me - Faces
9. C'est La Vie - Stereophonics
10. Sunday Morning - Maroon 5
11. Mystify - INXS
12. The Pulp Fiction Soundtrack
13. Baby I'm Yours - Arctic Monkeys
14. Mr Brightside - The Killers
15. Pack Up - Eliza Doolittle
16. Love Yourself - Justin Bieber
17. Formation - Beyonce
18. She's Electric - Oasis
19. Trouble - Iggy Azalea
20. Riptide - Vance Joy
21. Wreckin Bar - The Vaccines
22. Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader
23. Push the Button - Sugababes
24. The Promise - Girls Aloud

A Sunny Afternoon Walk

I took Cece for an afternoon walk exploring our new area. So far I've walked part way to another town, around our village... next on my list is to explore some nearby fields. The house has fields surrounding the area left right and centre.....
The sun was so flipping bright... I'm unsure how you can get weather like this in February?
Cece was exploring and sniffing everywhere. She also knows which door is the house on the way home... dogs are so clever!

The Isla from Bloom & Wild

I received some very happy mail earlier this week... some more flowers from Bloom & Wild!
Last time I opted for the Catherine which at the time was a hand tied bunch, but now I've noticed comes in Letterbox flower form.
I was impressed by the delivery in so many ways; a. because it did pop straight through the letterbox so I didn't even have to wait in for delivery! b. the protectors on the flower heads to stop them getting damaged in the process were brilliant.
I made a few vases big and small with the flowers. The one thing I love about Bloom and Wild flowers is that they come pre-bloom but still create a gorgeous bouquet before blooming. These photos were taken a few hours after the parcel was on my doorstep, and I know in a few days once the flowers are in full bloom they'll look even better.
I got the Isla for a bargain £10 using a voucher code, and I have one for you here if you click through refer a friend.

Climbing Arthur's Seat

The coach pulled in an hour early after travelling overnight to Edinburgh from London Victoria... so instead of getting breakfast first, we opted to tick off a must see, and try and see the sun rise over Edinburgh from Arthur's Seat.
There was a little bit of snow on the ground, and the roads were icy. At the bottom of the hill, the weather was clear, it was a very different story at the top.
Some parts were ridiculously slippy. Climbing up was okay, coming down was harder, and I did fall over flat on my face at one point! We saw people running up and down the hill, and honestly could not understand how you could run on a snowy steep hill!

At the top, a snowstorm decided to greet us. Not the best thing when you are on cliff like edges! My ear muffs, Kate Spade hat & blanket scarf half helped deal with it though!
