New Year's Day in Whitstable

This New Year's celebrations were focused more on New Year's Day rather than the evening before, and judging from a lot of the lovely people I follow on twitter, most went with the low key evenings. New Year's day, even though the skies were mainly grey, I hopped on the train down to the coast to visit my favourite seaside town Whitstable. Coming back, even on the greyest of days, made me regret not visiting last year, and gave me serious house goals / beach hut goals for the future. I ticked something off of my bucket list by trying oysters (and loving them too!) . The beginning of the day started by heading right of the station and exploring the huts by Tankerton Slopes ... literally minutes away from the main harbour, and huts of every colour you could wish for. Then heading to the main harbour, looking around the boutique shops and huts, picking out beer based on the craziest names (The Yeastie Boys & Beavertown was purchased!) Drinking in the art deco wetherspoons The Peter Cushing, and then chilling on the beach. It was the perfect way to start a new year.
