cece hearts snow

when it snows you have two choices ... shovel or make snow angels.

Here's a list of things that look better in the snow; Christmas trees, my mess of a garden, Cece's furry head, leaves, rooftops, cars ... pretty much everything. It snowed very very lightly again down in sunny old Kent. This time it was in the day time, so I headed out with a very excitable Cece to the garden to snap and explore.

Be Strong, Be Still

Having a skincare routine is a must on my daily to do list, so when Temple Spa contacted to ask whether I'd like to try out some of their skincare range in time for Valentines day, I couldn't pass the opportunity! My skin is between normal and sensitive - generally I never have breakouts, and my skin is clear and non-oily but I have been prone to skin tags before, which thanks to tea tree oil have now cleared up, that has left my skin broken in areas, so where possible I always try to opt for products tailored for sensitive skin.

Be Strong Face Serum is described as a 'power - packed super juice for the skin' and contains vitamins and natural plant extracts which gives the skin nutrition to help it look glowing. Serums are not a product I actively search for when shopping, however using Be Strong has changed my mind about the importance of a serum as a part of a skincare routine. There are no artificial colours or fragrances, which I prefer as the scent of this is gorgeous, so much so that I have to mindfully ration how much I'm putting on between applications because I love the scent so much that I want to apply more than enough to my face! I've noticed using this serum that my pores especially around my nose area have got smaller since I've started using this serum, and my skin feels amazing (and smells amazing too ... did I mention that?!)

I often buy moisturisers and have a love hate relationship with finding the perfect one - often moisturisers that I love and work well with my skin come with a hefty price tag, or the cheaper alternatives sit on my skin and make my skin look greasy. The Be Still Moisturiser I think is the perfect compromise as it is non greasy, settled, smooth and with a good price to match it that won't break the bank! Similar to Be Strong, the Be Still moisturiser is for sensitive skin, and contains no fragrance or colours. It sits lovely on the skin, and I find it the perfect base for my make up!

There is so much to choose from on the Temple Spa website, I've started curating a little wish list of products I want to try next ... the Power Breakfast is high up on that list! I would also check out
the most dreamy looking spas ever!

    Exploring Hampstead

London; I grew up with London on my doorstep, and as I've grown older, the more I appreciate everything that London has to offer. I used to have my daily commute to university which helped me explore everything South London has to offer, but even since graduating I still can find new places to see or events to attend. Hampstead has been on my to visit place for a long time now. As you step off the tube, you step out onto a quaint row of shops. First in my eyeline was Zara Home and it took everything to not go in and spend money like there's no tomorrow re-furnishing my house. There are coffee shops, pubs and even a dessert parlour (yes please!) to keep you refreshed before heading up the hill towards Hampstead Heath. Hampstead Heath is just as gorgeous as every other Londoner's Instagram photos will show you and no corner looks the same. The lakes are peaceful, and I could've sat on the benches people watching, dog watching and contemplating for hours. Surrounding Hampstead Heath you can find many Instagram worthy front doors, the odd studio, and heading towards Belsize Park, a busier high street which included quirky gift shops and charity shops which stocked Max Mara, Topshop and Jimmy Choo for bargain prices!

    Valentines Mix

I love a good love song, and with Valentines day coming up, single, in a relationship or whatever other status you may be, I love listening to love song mixes although it feels less romantic making an iTunes playlist on Apple Music instead of recording songs off of the radio/cd player to cassette tape (#thegoodolddays) !

    1. Beyonce - Love on Top
    2. Charlie Puth - Marvin Gaye
    3. Faces - Stay With Me
    4. Neil Sedaka - Calendar Girl
    5. Blur - Charmless Man
    6. The Mama's and Papa's - Dream a Little Dream of Me
    7.  The Ronettes - Be My Baby
    8.  Yazoo - Only You
    9. Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning
    10.  The Beach Boys - God Only Knows
    11.  Sam Cooke - Nothing Can Change This Love
    12. Arctic Monkeys - Mardy Bum
    13. Amy Winehouse - Me & Mr Jones
    14. Carole King - Where You Lead

& the entire La La Land soundtrack because, it is the film of the year.

    Valentines Cards to Swoon For

Valentines Day cards ; whether you are single or not, you may end up sending or receiving (or both!) For years, I felt most cards all looked the same and often opted for OTT funny cards or Me To You. This year designer's and shop's Valentines day card game has been very on point so I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you today.

Top of my list, and for all the Stranger Things fans out there is the You're An Eleven card from Urban Outfitters because Eleven is the best character in Stranger Things (closely followed by Barb!) and Millie Bobby Brown is bloody amazing too! If you love or someone you love, loves McDonalds the Happy Meal card is one.

Sarah McKevitt  is an illustrator who's work I absolutely love; she designed the Drake & Arctic Monkeys card, but on her Etsy and Depop she has a whole range of cards for all different occasions starting at £3.50 each. I first came across Sarah's work when I bought the 'Dad... you're my favourite taxi driver' card for Father's Day last year, and as soon as I saw the Valentines designs launching, I was quick to order my favourites!

    Sunday, 5 February 2017

This weekend was time for the first blogger event in my calendar for the year, the Blogosphere Valentines Tea party; after attending the Summer Party & Christmas Market last year, I knew the event wouldn't disappoint. The event was held at Lumiere London, which was the same venue as the event back in the summer. The interiors inside the tropical library were just stunning. I never thought I could fall in love with a yellow sofa ... but it is definitely possible! I felt like I could've just spent the afternoon photographing the room! Pearl and Groove were back, supplying gorgeous cakes which taste insanely good. The Duppy Share supplied us with delicious Rum Punch, and after spying on their Twitter, I am itching to try hot Rum Punch! There were talks on the day from bloggers, which I enjoyed and learnt some great top tips from ... I wrote notes on my phone then came home and instantly started ticking off some to do's from those top tips! There was a photo booth by The Flash Pack putting bloggers on the front cover of Blogosphere magazine, alongside flat lay materials to perfect an Insta snap. Kat Von D Beauty were colour matching foundations as well as having a display of stunning beauty products. I loved the range of lip colours, and am tempted to order some 'out there' colours to trial. Glo&Ray Cosmetics were displaying their range, and their eyeshadow quads were made up from bright, vibrant colours. Dr Lipp had a display of their original nipple balm for lips, alongside funky badges and a table full of blogger loving props such as mini plants and scrabble tiles. Their display I loved, and especially the mini crates! Samaya beauty had a skincare stand with their range of cleansers and moisturisers. In the goody bag, we were gifted a range of products from brands who attended the event & others ... I did have a mini happy moment when I saw Love Heart Handwash! I had a fantastic time at the event as always, and if you haven't been to a Blogosphere magazine event before, get yourself on their mailing list to know when the tickets are released for the next one!
