Lavender at The Hop Shop, Castle Farm

Purple literally everywhere; a good way to describe the early summer at Castle Farm.
The Hop Shop, in my opinion, is one of the hidden gems of Kent; it's family run & is the largest Lavender grower in the UK. The first time I went, it was by accident on a weekend countryside walk & it was so busy, and this time I went on a weekday afternoon and it was quieter, but still with lots of people coming and going. There is so much going on and different events & pop ups all the time; their Instagram is the best place to keep up to date and also for Lavender bloom & harvesting updates; the photos taken above were within the first week due to their excellent social media updates! In the fields, the Lavender smelt amazing and looked beautiful; there is a lovely little bench for the perfect selfie. You can also book aromatherapy massages & my local dance instructor has run pilates classes in the fields before! When I visited, there was pop up pizza van there offering wood fired pizzas, alongside the resident coffee cart. Inside the Hop Shop you could quite easily empty your bank account buying all the lovely things inside. Off the top of my head I can think of; lavender tea, bunches of lavender, meringues (the really massive ones with colourful swirls on), pickles, Gisela Graham goodies, quirky greetings cards, lavender candles, bath salts & soap, Castle Farm apple juice (which is so so lush!). I'm planning a trip back in September for apple picking & October for pumpkin picking!
