eleven things; hairspray

one. Jude’s new smile that he does, which makes his face grin so wide and he closes his eyes for added effect - it’s just very cute and I’m sure it means I’ll be giving in to all sorts if he figures out that I adore it!

two. all of the sleepy cuddles; we’re in summer holiday mode and as I’m counting the days until he starts nursery, I’m lapping up all of his last baby days.

three. seeing Hairspray in the theatre with my Mum & Sister. We have always wanted to go and see it and it definitely did not disappoint. Les Dennis and Michael Ball as Wilbur and Edna were hilarious.

four. eating at Gordon Ramsey’s Street Burger Kitchen. We had the bae burger which included candied bacon and it was lush.

five. finding a gorgeous pastel rainbow top in the Oliver Bonas sale.

six. a mini Lush haul from the Oxford Street store including trading in lots of empty pots for face masks. The new layout of their stores, especially upstairs is brilliant and did you know Lush now sell flowers?!

seven. visiting Margate, and walking around to see The Albion Rooms & then onto Northend Road to visit some favourites including Sunny Vintage & Retro.

eight. Costa Peach Iced Teas… or any iced tea to be honest.

nine. creating resources ahead of September and a new class and new school year. Something I’m especially proud of is my guided reading group names and posters - instead of going generic, I’ve named the groups after diverse authors and I’m making it my mission this year to teach and make a conscious effort to vary the authors and texts I use.

ten. leaving voice notes for friends.

eleven. EMDR therapy - it is so hard but it is something I am so grateful for. We are mid point and at the stage where I’m having to properly throw myself into it. I’m hoping to be able to see the long term effects.
